Bake your own picnic cake!

Mmm, that cake looked delicious. Has the film made you hungry too? Let’s bake our own picnic cake!

Together with an adult, melt the butter in a small pan and take it off the stove. Let it cool down a bit.

First, stir the sugar through the melted butter. Then you can add the flour, egg, and finally the vanilla, cinnamon or lemon zest. Scoop the dough from the pan and divide it evenly over the bottom of the cake mould.

Cover your cake crust with fruit, if the fruit is a bit sour, add a tiny pinch of sugar before baking. Bake the cake in the preheated oven (190⁰) for about 20 minutes. Your cake is done when it is golden brown, so keep a close eye on it!

Close your eyes and open your nose, what does your cake smell like?

And of course, it’s time to taste it too. Find yourself a nice spot to picnic, that can be anywhere, except at the dinner table. Find a nice spot to put your picnic blanket, underneath the table, in the cabinet, on the balcony or in the door opening. Carefully cut your cake in pieces to share with your picnic companions, but watch out for cake robbers!
